How to unblock the drain hole in your Indesit fridge
Watch our easy to follow guide on how to unblock the drain hole in your Indesit fridge or fridge freezer and get rid of those annoying water puddles
Hello my name’s Alan. I am a senior technician with Indesit company. I have over fifteen years experience helping customers with their refrigeration appliances. At Indesit Company we design and manufacture our appliances to provide many trouble free years of service to our customers, but there also a few things you can do yourself to help ensure your appliance operates to its full potential or to help resolve any common user issues.
This film covers how to deal with water in the base of the fridge and in the salad bins. This issue is usually caused by the drain hole being blocked. The drain hole is there to collect moisture from the back wall of the fridge but sometimes this can become blocked.
What you will need to rectify the issue: a drain hole cleaner or straw.
Step one: if the salad bin or base of fridge has water in it, mop up the fridge base and empty the salad bins of any water.
Step two: with a straw or drain hole cleaner push down the drain hole to unblock.
If you’re still experiencing problems please refer to your user handbook which can also be downloaded from the user handbook section on the website. Remember spares can also be obtained from our website as well as care products for a range of kitchen appliances.
Recap – get rid of any water in the salad bins or the floor of the fridge. Use the drain hole cleaner to unblock the hole.
