Video transcript:

Hello my name’s Alan.  I am a senior technician with Indesit company.  I have over fifteen years experience helping customers with their dishwashers.  At Indesit Company we design and manufacture our appliances to provide many trouble free years of service to our customers, but there also a few things you can do yourself to help ensure your appliance operates to its full potential or to help resolve any common user issues.

This film covers how to deal with setting the water hardness of your dishwasher.  You will need to set your machine up if it is a new appliance or you have moved to an area where the water hardness is different.  This only applies to models with water hardness setting under the salt cap.

How you will know there is a problem: poor wash results, scale on the inside of the dishwasher. To identify the water hardness area that you live in, please contact your water board, then refer to your user handbook for the correct settings.

Step one: You need to ensure the water softener is set correctly for your water type.

Step two: unscrew the salt reservoir cap.

Step three: turn the adjusting to the correct setting, please refer to your user handbook for the correct setting.

Step four: replace the lid.

If you’re still experiencing problems please refer to your user handbook which can also be downloaded from the user handbook section of our website. Remember spares can also be obtained from our website as well as care products for a range of kitchen appliances.

Recap: Unscrew salt reservoir cap. Turn adjusting to correct setting as specified in the user handbook. Replace the lid.
